The first husband of Princess Caroline of Monaco, Philippe Junot, has died at the age of 85. He died on 8 January 2026 in Madrid.
His death was announced by his daughter, Victoria, on social media. She wrote, “It is with great emotion that I announce the passing of my father. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on January 8, 2026, in Madrid, after a long and beautiful life full of adventures.”
Philippe and Caroline were married in 1978, which was the first marriage for both. They were divorced just two years later and they had no children together.
Philippe went on to marry Nina Wendelboe-Larsen in 1988, with whom he had three children, including the abovementioned Victoria. They separated in 1997. In 2005, he also had a daughter named Chloé with Helén Wendel. He was a grandfather of three, soon to be four.
