Albert II, Prince of Monaco, has sent a message to the Israeli President Isaac Herzog following the release of Israeli hostages.
The hostages were taken at the October 7 attacks in 2023 and were exchanged for Palestinian detainees.
He wrote, “Mr. President,
It is with deep relief that I learned of the release of the Israeli hostages held since the tragic attack of October 7, 2023.
In these times marked by hope and the rebirth of a broken bond, I wish to commend all the efforts made towards this release, as well as the courage of the families, whose painful wait has finally come to an end.
My family and the people of Monaco join me in expressing our sincere hope to see the peoples of the Mediterranean basin unite around the fundamental values of peace, dialogue, and respect for human dignity.
I assure you, Mr. President, and the Israeli people, of our support, with a special thought for the families reunited today.”
