Crown Prince Christian of Denmark took to the skies in an F-16 for a training mission.

The Crown Prince, 19, participated in the training in the Fighter Wing Skrydstrup aircraft. He flew as a passenger as part of the Danish Air Force’s daily training.

The day’s experience was special as it “made a boy’s dream come true” as Crown Prince Christian flew in one of the last training flights with F-16s. The aircraft is being phased out of the Danish Air Force.

Christian’s father, King Frederik, was also on hand to watch his son’s training mission.

The Crown Prince took to the Danish Royal House’s Instagram to share his experience, writing: “Today, a boy’s dream came true. I had the opportunity to get on one of the last training flights in an F-16 aircraft – and wow, it was crazy.

“Soon the new F-35s will take over, and I am very thankful that I made it. I already had great respect for the pilots who fly our fighter jets, and after today, it has only gotten bigger.

“It was a huge experience – and lovely that my dad stopped by Skrydstrup after today’s flight.”

He later shared a selfie he took on the flight with Kronborg Castle seen below. His cousin, Count Nikoali, shared star emojis on the post to show his support for the heir to the throne.
