Prince and Princess of Wales to relocate

The Prince and Princess of Wales and their family are set to move out of Adelaide Cottage in Windsor.

The family will relocate to Forest Lodge in Windsor Great Park later this year.

A spokesperson for Kensington Palace confirmed the move, saying, “The Wales family will move house later this year.”

Forest Lodge features eight bedrooms, which is larger than the four-bedroom Adelaide Cottage. Like the cottage, the family will not have live-in staff to have a private family home.

Their Royal Highnesses will reportedly pay for all renovations and market rent. The family sees it as their forever home.

A source told the BBC, “Windsor has become their home. However, over the last few years, while they have lived at Adelaide Cottage, there have been some really difficult times. Moving gives them an opportunity for a fresh start and a new chapter.

“It’s an opportunity to leave some of the more unhappy memories behind.”

Catherine spent 18 months battling cancer at the cottage, and the family now wants to leave those memories in the past.

The Prince and Princess of Wales plan to reside in the home after William becomes monarch one day.

William, Catherine and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, moved from London to Windsor in 2022, where they have been afforded more privacy. Their offices remain at London’s Kensington Palace, and the family has another home, Anmer Hall in Norfolk.
