Princess Sirivannavari of Thailand has promised to carry on her grandmother’s legacy in a touching Instagram post.

The Princess paid tribute to her grandmother, Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, on her personal Instagram page with family photos and fond memories.

She wrote, “‘My granddaughter,’ is the voice that still echoes in my heart. She would introduce me to others, saying, ‘This is my granddaughter, Sirivannavari.’”

The Princess continued sharing that her grandmother named her, “The name ‘Sirivannavari,’ which she graciously bestowed upon me herself, felt like a rebirth. She raised, nurtured, and guided me as a mother would, putting me to bed, praying with me, teaching me Thai and international etiquette, and sharing fascinating stories from history.”

She shared that her grandmother taught her to swim and “to be strong, patient, determined, and kind.”

“When studying abroad, don’t forget your Thai identity. Take the best of what they have and adapt it,” Sirivannavari wrote when discussing her grandmother’s advice before she studied abroad in France.

“For me, my grandmother will never truly be gone. Everything she loved and cared for, I will carry on for the rest of my life,” Princess Sirivannavari concluded.
