Prince Albert and Princess Charlene welcome Italian President Sergio Mattarella for state visit

Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco have welcomed the Italian President Sergio Mattarella and his daughter, Laura Mattarella, for a state visit.

The Italian President and his wife, who is acting as Italy’s First Lady, received an official welcome at Nice Airport.

After arriving at Nice, Sergio and Laura Mattarella were taken to the Prince’s Palace in Monaco to be welcomed by Prince Albert and Princess Charlene. During the official welcoming ceremony, the Italian President received military honours. The two national anthems were played, and the official delegations were presented. The Prince and Princess’s two children, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, were also present.

After the welcome, the two couples will attend an opera performance by mezzo-soprano Cecilia Bartoli. Afterwards, an official lunch will be held in the Throne Room of the Prince’s Palace.
