Emperor Naruhito, Empress Masako and their daughter, Princess Aiko, have arrived at the Nasu Imperial Villa Annex.

Their stay is meant as a period of rest and relaxation. The family walked through the grounds of the complex wearing “kariyushi,” the formal summer attire of Okinawa.

Speaking to the reporters, Emperor Naruhito said that the main residence of the Nasu Imperial Villa was celebrating its 100th anniversary that day, and added, “I am very pleased that the three of us were able to come to Nasu again this year on this very day.”

Empress Masako smiled and said, “I am looking forward to this stay as well.”
