Princess Kako of Japan has tested positive for COVID-19 and is forced to cancel her engagements.
The Imperial Household Agency made the announcement today. Among the engagements was a visit to the Deaflympics Square, the base facility for the Tokyo Deaflympics, which was set to take place on Wednesday.
The Princess experienced a sore throat on Sunday evening but tested negative at the time. When she developed a fever on Tuesday morning, another test confirmed the diagnosis. She will rest until Friday.
Princess Kako is the second daughter of Crown Prince Akishino and Crown Princess Kiko.
